January 2, Mark Hammond (64), trumpeter, head of the Navy Music Program until his retirement in 2002, Marty Conley’s Big Band Express.

January 31, Nicki Carano (48), drummer with Tir Na Nog, Christopher Dale, Glassy, Camel Tones, In My Humble Opinion, Nectarine, Haute Flash, 3DVA, Radio Rage, etc.
