"There's Got To Be A Morning After, If We Can Make It To The Dawn!" --Maureen McGovern, from "The Morning After (Theme From "The Posideon Adventure")"

30-Aug-10 09:07 hrs.

I put in a call to (I found out much to my chagrin that I mispelled my worker's name, and misassigned her gender) Jill Kwamoto yesterday afternoon, requesting some clairifcation of just what "Provisional" Social Security Benefits are.

Since the re-determination process will take six months at the least, my SSDI bennies have been provisionally "Re-Started," starting in Spetember. This means that for the next six months, I will be getting my full SSDI check. September's will be going to my payee, but starting in October, I will be getting the checks sent directly to my mailbox.

How?

I see my psychiatrist tomorrow afternoon at 15:15hrs. At that time, I will be asking him for a letter (with contact information) to release me from payeeship. Once my worker has that letter...Bye-Bye Organizer!

Once I have "The Letter," I will be schlepping my carcass over to the Oceanside Field Office the next morning to meet with my worker and go through a "required interview." I like my chances, even better now that my bennies are back--albeit on a provisional basis.

When that "provisional" gets switched to "permanent," however--then I will breathe a real sigh of relief. Still, I'm happy that it even got this far!

The dawn is breaking--I hope it's a pretty one. --LPR
