Getting Around With A New Buddy...

"Then they watch the progress he makes." --Iron Maiden, from the title track of "Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son."

Well, my readers, I now have a new buddy. No, I did not go out and get another pet--our property managers have now kiboshed pet ownership in the complex I live in. Stinks worse than uncleaned chitlins, mind you...but what can I do?

No, I now have a new laptop computer, thanks to my father and the Computer Factory of San Marcos. It's a Lenovo (formerly IBM Thinkpad) that I recieved as an early birthday present. So far, it does what I want it to do...which is mostly word-processing and blogging on the Internet.

I still have to come here to the Vista Public Library to use the Internet...but I now get unlimited time on their broadband service. This means I can come down here, plug in my Lenovo and router, and keep in touch with everybody...as long as the library remains open (or unless the system crashes).

Still and all, I'm still shopping for a home Wi-Fi carrier. I'm thinking either ATT, Cricket, Virgin, or Cox. After all, there will be days I do not feel like hauling my azz to the library...or the library will be closed (like at night).

Other than that, I'm cool with the world right now.
