Lack of Patience

Being a server, I have witnessed some incredibly rude guests. Most diners are friendly and make conversation. I love when guests ask questions and test your knowledge of food. But then, there are the diners that put you to the test. These diners have no patience for food wait time or have "I am the only table in the world that matters" thought process. These diners snap their fingers at you as if your were a peasant. These diners will literally come up to you at another table while your taking a new table's order. I have been tapped on the shoulder as I am attempting to do wine service for another table. Just to be asked for some extra sauce or dressing. Please do not do this, not only does this annoy your fellow diners this annoys your server. Please have some patience. If you have a good server, they stay attentive and make the rounds in their section constantly. i do understand you may have a inattentive server at times, so you feel the need to make a move to get what you want. Ask the busser, the hostess, another server even before you interrupt table service for another guest. You always have the opportunity to express your disdain if you have a poor server. Please do not be one of those guests that snaps your fingers, waves your server down, or talks on your cell phone and do not acknowledge us. I do understand food may take a while to come out depending on what you ordered. Understand that the server can only do so much to get the food out as fast as we can. The kitchen could be backed up or we have a new cook who is still learning. If the restaurant is full and every guest orders steak, there will be a wait time. If you want fast service, McDonalds is always on some road by where you live. Please just have patience. Servers can only control so much.
