Today's Mail

Today, my mailbox was stuffed with the usual supermarket advertisements and other wasteful uses of paper, glossy campaign postcards for various candidates and an official looking first class letter from the Department of Health and Human Services in Baltimore Maryland. It says in small print “Important information from Medicare”, in two languages. Inside is “A message from Kathleen Sebelius”, Secretary of Health & Human Services. In the first paragraph of this high gloss, multi-color ink four page non-union letter is a paragraph about “The Affordable Care Act” passed by Congress and signed by President Obama this year. The letter talks about improvements I will see right away, important new benefits to help me stay healthy, and so forth. My favorite part is on last page. It speaks of cracking down on criminals seeking to scam seniors and steal taxpayer dollars. It tells me I am an important resource in the fight against fraud. It gives me a phone number if I want to report something that seems like fraud. Tomorrow, I will call and report the fraudulent use of taxpayer’s dollars to promote the Democrats running in the June elections. I consider myself a very left wing liberal Democrat. I have always been an activist for all things that make people equal. This letter feels like the biggest slap in my face since the election fraud in Florida. I am disappointed, disgusted, angry, and not afraid to talk about it. My first question will be what fund did the money for this “newsletter” come from? My second question will be who do they think they are fooling?
