Some of you may remember a frequent blogger by the name of "Emstermom1" on the Escondido Neighborhood Page. Well, today I opened "The Paper" and discovered that "Emstermom1" (real name, Claudia Aragon) has received some much overdue praise.
Lyle Davis of The Paper has been publishing Claudia's stories left and right. The latest one is in this week's issue and is called, "Executive Order 9066: The Internment of 110,000 Japanese-Americans."
Of Aragon, the editor writes, "If the name Claudia Aragon rings a bell, it should. She has written several fascinating stories for us.
Claudia is an exciting new writer and an outstanding storyteller, capturing the nuances of family life and the difficulties of a hard-scrabble existence she and her family experienced for a number of years. She's seen some tough times and writes about it crisply, clearly, and with passion. She's rapidly becoming a favorite."
Congratulations to Claudia and to Lyle for recognizing her talent!
