In 2009 I had begun sharing some of my aerial photos on Facebook and also at my photoblog DailyFrame. I was surprised and excited one day when I got an email from a friend of mine who works at Point Loma Nazarene University asking about aerial shots of their campus on Point Loma.
Consulting with a client and then conducting a photo shoot to specifications was both intriguing and exhilarating. My pilot Todd researched the air space near Point Loma and I talked with my client about the angles and the lighting. Soon, Todd and I were orbiting over the waters off Point Loma at various altitudes looking for that perfect angle.
Point Loma proved to be a challenging air space to fly in, but it also gave me my first real strategic assignment, and in my next posts I'll show you some of the technique I stumbled upon, and the visual perks of flying there.
