Don't need a phone on my trip. But, do need to be able to text, in London, in Marrakech. What time? Where do we meet? Drinks in London. adventures in The desert.
Last time through the uk was a stupid trip. Stupid because I flew over on a Wednesday and the took a really long train ride to Plymouth to meet up with a friend from Oceanside and some mutual local friends,
Then on Saturday took the train to Bristol to spend the night with another old friend, then back through London to that little town near the Cliffs of Dover (Folkstone) on the train on a Sunday, next day road trip to France on the Chunnel and then on Tuesday back to London.
It was March maybe 5 years ago. very cold and wet and blustery until that last day in London. sleeping on an air mattress next to the spare bed occupied by my friend Lynda from Oside, after a fun day riding a ferry to the markets, sitting on the bus with a darling pitbull, spending an hour on a hill overlooking the city on an incredibly sunny day- locals in swimsuit tops lying in the sun, playing frisbee, eating ice cream, and then hours in the pub drinking pitcher after pitcher of pimms cup on an outdoor patio with dozens of happy partners, then to Little Bay for dinner- Thai - so wonderful I remember the name, and the stairs down to the bathroom with the inevitable lack if railing after a day of cheerful cruising.
So yesterday trying to figure out with attonline what i needed in order to text friends in London and Marrakech, and did a little texting test - hearing back from both within minutes! $10 global messaging will do it, will sign up the week before, i'll see them in person, don't have to chatter on the phone!
Will be cold in London, maybe rainy, and should be gorgeous in Morocco. Hmmm. Perhaps I'll have a pitcher of Pimms on St. Patrick's Day and figure it all out.
