Special Board Meeting to Discuss Superintendent Ed Brand's Contract

Concerned Parents, Neighbors, and Taxpayers,   The District has posted the notice for a special board meeting to be held on Monday (Sept 10th) at 6:30pm at the Board Conference Room, Administration Center, 1130 Fifth Avenue, Chula Vista, CA 91911.  (See the notice at http://boarddocs.suhsd.k12.ca.us/Board.nsf/Public)   Meeting: Sep 10, 2012 - Special Closed Session Meeting - 6:30 p.m. Category: Public Communication Subject: Public Communication on Posted Items Type:  This is the point on the agenda where members of the public may address the board on any matter posted for the special meeting.   We need to get the word out to everyone about this meeting and encourage them to attend and use the public comment portion of the meeting to let the board know your opinion.  I encourage you to forward this to your friends and neighbors to attend.  I think personally attending a school board meeting changed the way I understand the way things work.  It was an eye opener for me and I think it will be for you too.    This meeting is called to discuss the interim superintendent's new  2 year contract.  The scheduling of this meeting at 6:30pm during Monday Night Football when the Chargers open their season against the Raiders was a strategic move to avoid public attendance.  It is my understanding that the focus of this meeting is the interim Superintendent, Dr. Ed Brand’s two year consultant contract worth $280,000.00 per year.    HOPE TO SEE YOU AT THE MEETING ON MONDAY!     FACEBOOK (and “Like” us): SAFEGUARDING EDUCATION IN CHULA VISTA https://www.facebook.com/?sk=welcome#!/SafeguardingEducationInChulaVista   BLOG: http://www.sandiegoreader.com/weblogs/south-bay-education-issues/   TWITTER:  William Richter @wrichter00
