Rain for a Parched week

After a pleasantly mild summer, I was a bit disgruntled by the sudden blast of hot sun this week. Woah--it just came out of nowhere!! I mean where was the sun Labor Day weekend? Or the rest of summer, when people look forward to beach days, not fret over work/school days...

San Diego is renowned for its perfect usually 75 (+/- 5 degrees) weather, but rarely do we complete a summer that does not heat up to the 80s and 90s, even here in Carmel Valley, which is more coastland (and if I do say so, a paradise within a paradise)!

It seemed a little odd that while the East Coast was playing host to storms and rain, San Diego was entertaining a rather intense visit by the sun... However, should San Diego be known for "perfect" or for "surprising" weather?!! Because Mother Nature decided to do a 180 and grant us blessed rain today!

It was still a bit humid, but the rain was rather refreshing, especially as the breeze further cooled the temperatures. AND, I saw a rather lovely rainbow!!

I have to say, I love San Diego weather but the rest of the country does not know the half of our weather patterns...they are tempestuous and whimsical... No, no I will not start to wax poetic!
