Now, things are starting to grow in San Diego in the hip hop community. Not, cause' of one artist or the past artist, but because there is a cause' thats making sure we stay on the map. Its all about getting venues together, and helping those local artist have a hand in the spot light. I believe that if your starting out on anything, it shouldnt be about ticket sales, or paying grips of money to be heard for 8 mins or so. Talent comes in all shapes and sizes in the hip hop community. Its all about setting people apart from other artist and thatcan be very hazy at times. When people say they only want to work with talent, its cause what they are trying to say is that I just want the easy buck. This movement is all about from the start to finish of artist. The kava lounge has been great to this movement, and continue to have us there. I have a small internet radio station playing San Diego Hip Hop and the world hears it. When you invest into something like that, you push it to its limits, and hopfully investors come in and help it grow. I dj and host at all my events or I am ask to help host and dj and I love every min of it. I am currently managing a local artist by the name of Big Smoke, and hopfully to get him to the next level. In, this day and age, its all about the internet and social networks, but I continue to do foot work and continue to connect with people who want to hear about our citys hip hop scene. Most, people come into San Diego to make a quick buck and never do anything to helpout this city. I invest in my city with its teams and with my internet radio station. Most people want to hear whats popular and so do I, but how do it get to that point is what I am about. Just like in sports we all have to start somewhere, and that somewhere in the hip hop community is non existant. Check out my station and facebook page, and shoot me a email.
