Why are so many Bachelor contestants gravitating to San Diego?

Bachelor fans recall when Ali and Roberto decided to set up shop in San Diego almost 18 months ago after they got engaged on national TV. (Although they recently broke-up so who knows where they will end up). Roberto ran his insurance business from an office next to PetCo Park downtown while Ali who famously left a great job at facebook to be the Bachelorette started her own talent business in San Diego. But aside from Ali and Roberto there are a slew of Bachelor contestants setting up shop in SD and hopefully more to come.

Kiptyn was the adorable surfer guy from Jillian’s season. He lives in Encinitas, but his girlfriend Tenley Molzahn runner-up from Jake Pavelkas season also lives here now. Kiptyn runs a number of businesses in San Diego while Tenley worked as a correspondent for both E! and Dancing With The Stars. The two went to the Sundance Film festival with Trista and Ryan, famous for being the only couple that has lasted from the Bachelor franchise.

Recently I attended a wine bar opening in La Jolla for Jesse Kovacs another cast-off and almost winner of Jillian's season with some friends from OK Here is the situation.. ...(another group of e-list celebrity stalkers) http://okhereisthesituation.com/

The event was for the opening of Blended Industries in La Jolla, and the room was packed with Bachelor cast-offs: Vienna Giardi and Kasey Kahl (another Bachelor couple), Kiptyn and Tenley, Jesse Kovacs, Michael Stagliano fresh from being dumped on national TV by Holly Durst (winner of Bachelor Pad Season 2), Natalie from Jake Pavelka's season and winner of Bachelor Pad season 1 and some guy named Shooter from Jillian's season. Kovacs was actually behind the bar serving up glasses of his wine. And although Ben Flajnik couldn't be there, his wine was.

The current Bachelor Ben Flajnik is also from San Diego. He was splitting his time between San Diego and Sonoma when he appeared on the Bachelorette last season, but now that he is the Bachelor he is full-time in Sonoma, home of his winery Evolve. http://okhereisthesituation.com/2011/12/08/get-acquainted-ben-flajniks-amazing-ladies/

So I don't know what all this means, but San Diego would certainly benefit from the pomp and circumstance of some amazing e-listers like this.

FYI: for other fans of this ridiculous show: when is the Bachelor on? it starts January 2, 2011 Mondays at 8:00pm
