Ever notice how good friends tend to dress alike? Kate Jackson and Jenna McKown are a perfect example. When asked what their favorite wardrobe item is, both gave the same answer: their Jeffrey Campbell Lita’s. Kate has the suede version of the boot while Jenna owns the lace ones. I found Jackson and McKown on Wednesday afternoon working at Mimi & Red, a trendy women’s boutique on University Ave in North Park (there is one in La Jolla as well). They were putting together a vision board filled with magazine clippings on current trends.
“This is my least favorite look,” Jackson said, pointing to a cut-out of a runway model in a crop top paired with an A-line skirt.
“I don’t like clothes made out of plastic” McKown added, “You know, like what they used to wear in the 90’s,” she shows me a magazine cover with a smiling blonde wearing a neon pink plastic jacket.
Both ladies wore Steve Madden boots. Jenna’s t-shirt is Victoria Secret, her black pants are Guess, and her beanie is from Mimi & Red. Everything Kate wore was from Mimi & Red except for her boots.
