Grace Francais believes that accessories are the key to every outfit.
"I'm a big fan of basics. I'm wearing a black tank dress from Brass Plum. I wear it all the time. I just add things to it."
The day I ran into Francais she dressed up her black tank dress with a long sleeved tee, a denim vest, leopard print tights and gold jewelry.

The 22-year-old works at Brass Plum in Nordstrom and admits that most of her paychecks go into buying clothing from there.
"They should just give me a clothing allowance instead of a paycheck," she laughs, "Everything I am wearing except for my tights (Aldo) and one necklace (from Brandy Melville) are from Nordstrom."
Grace's boots are Steve Madden Troopa's and her watch is Marc Jacobs.

Karen Cheng is currently out of work. The 19-year-old UCSD student was headed to an interview at Anthropologie when I ran into her.
Cheng's ankle boots are from Primark, a forever 21 style retailer in London. Cheng spent the summer exploring Europe with a group of friends.
"These boots only cost about $14," she told me.
Her skirt is Forever 21, her top is from Nasty Gal , and her purse is another London score, purchased at Top Shop.
The 19-year old's favorite local shopping spot is Brandy Melville in PB.

Dogs as accessories are a thing at UTC Mall. I noticed a handful of people walking around with tiny little pooches. Samantha Lurie's dog is a Morkie, a Maltese/Yorkie.
The 33-year-old owns two boutiques in Chicago called Enaz.
Lurie's rabbit fur jacket is by 525, her leather pants are Zara, her sunglasses are Ray bans, and her Fedora is from Urban Outfitters.
