Pizza Port's 4th Annual Brewbies Festival, twice the fun

Two-day beer festival adds a second session in the hopes of raising more money for Keep A Breast Foundation and accommodating sold-out crowds.

“Beer + Boobies = Brewbies,” clarifies the invite to the Brewbies Festival

This is the fourth year Pizza Port Carlsbad (571 Carlsbad Village Drive) is to hold their Brewbies Festival, which benefits Keep A Breast Foundation.

Keep A Breast Foundation is a non-profit breast cancer organization focused on prevention through education and 100% of the festival’s proceeds will be donated to support their cause.

Adhering to the normal beer fest set-up, local and regional breweries are housed in separate booths selling tasters of their handcrafted brews and chatting with festival-goers about, well, beer.

A few breweries to be present include, but definitely not limited to:

Ballast Point

Firestone

Sierra Nevada

Allagash

Coronado

Big Dogs

Pizza Port

Lost Abbey

Upping the ante, Pizza Port has once again brewed a special pink-colored beer specifically for this event.

Held in previous years on one perpetually sold-out five-hour Saturday afternoon session, another five-hour Friday night session was added this year to accommodate the long lines of people seen last year hoping to get into the sold-out event.

Last year’s event raised over $20,000 for Keep A Breast, so with the inclusion of a second session the promise of raising much more this year is a serious reality.

Presale for the Saturday, Feb 9 session at 12 p.m. is already sold out and there are less than 100 tickets available for the Friday, Feb 8 session at 5 p.m.

With this is mind, purchasing your tickets for the Friday evening session in advance for $25 is highly recommended.

A limited number of tickets will be available for $30 at the door but there are “no guarantees”.

Admission price gets you a custom Brewbies pint glass, an "I Heart Boobies" wristband, one raffle ticket, and six 6-ounce tasters.

Additional tasters and raffle tickets will be available for $1.

Past raffle prizes have included goodies from Electra Bike, Flow Snowboards, O’Neill and Otter Box so chances are the raffle will be well-stocked with quality donated goods this year as well.

The event is rain or shine and as Pizza Port posted on their Facebook page “the beer will keep you warm but not dry… so bring a raincoat just in case.”
