The last NCAA March Madness games air Saturday, April 6 and Monday, April 8 which leaves Sunday, April 7 with a big gaping hole in your competitive little heart.
RA Sushi has you covered with their mid-day madness Sushi Showdown event - "a college basketball championship-inspired competition [which] is the ultimate contest between man and sushi," according to the press release.
This competitive eating extravaganza is split into two rounds, the final goal to see who can eat the most uncut Tootsy Maki rolls [a RA Sushi signature roll consisting of Kani kama crab (imitation crab meat) mix, shrimp, and cucumber rolled in rice, topped with crunchy tempura bits, and drizzled with a sweet eel sauce] in the given time frame.

The first round will have all 24 contestants competing at once, but split up into two heats of twelve competitors each, with three minutes on the clock.
The top three eaters from each heat will advance to the final round.
The final Championship Round will see all six competitors competing with each other to see who will be able to eat the most Tootsy Maki rolls in five minutes.
The ultimate sushi eater will win “RA Sushi for a year” to the tune of twelve $50 RA Gift Certificates. The second place eater will win a $100 RA Gift Certificate, third place a $50 RA Gift Certificate, and the fourth place contestant will receive a $25 RA Gift Certificate.
Although registration for the event has ended, March Madness is really about spectating anyhow so there will be food and drink specials for attendees - perhaps to provide fodder for some side bets - as well as a local DJ providing some ear candy.
Drink Specials:
$7 Rim "RA"cker: Skyy Vodka Red Bull
$6 Half Court Bombs: Red Bull and a choice of cherry, grape or mango vodka or Jagermeister
$5 Free Throw Bombs: Kirin or Kirin Light; Add Sake for $1
Food Specials:
$7 Tokyo Tussle Roll
$6 Throwdown Roll
It all goes down Sunday, April 7 at RA Sushi (474 Broadway) from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
