An unexpected event at Carlsbad’s Dove Library: Miniature Golf!

You read that correctly, mini golf is allowed and encouraged within the library walls one day per year! “Mini Golf ‘fore’ the Library” will be held this year on September 30th. This annual event raises money for Carlsbad libraries, arts, and programs. The Carlsbad Library and Arts Foundation transforms the library for one afternoon into a nine-hole mini golf course. It’s fun and challenging; one year the final hole was down the stairs!

You can play mini golf this Sunday from 11a.m. until 4p.m. Adults play for $10, kids, 12 and under are $5. Putting isn’t the only skill put to the test as the adults can try to outbid one another in the silent auction. Kids can extend their own fun by picking up a balloon, visiting with clowns, getting their faces painted, etc. Live music from City Limits and vittles from Garcia’s and Joey’s Smokin’ BBQ will be available for all to partake in.

If you’re not much of a mini golfer, you can still enjoy the food with a $5.00 ticket and quietly cheer on your putters. Hopefully, there’ll be no need to yell “Fore”, but if so, golf tips can be found at call number 796.352. See you on the course!
