The Little Yoga Studio downtown (702 Ash St.) offers a Yoga Alliance Certified led by Sara Deakin, Liza DiGaetano, Shauna McKay, Merrin Muxlow, and more. The program focuses on "asana, anatomy, philosophy, Ayurveda, Resorative and Ashtanga yoga, the business of yoga, meditation, chanting, pranayama, the Chakra system, adjustments, sequencing, practicing and teaching." The program is limited to 12 students each season, and sessions are held Wednesdays 7-10 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays 1-4 p.m. from September 22 through November 7. Tuition costs $2,200.
Prana Yoga in La Jolla (1041 Silverado St.) offers a Yoga Alliance Certified vinyasa program led by Gerhard Gessner and taught by teachers such as Liza DiGaetano, Vicki Abrams, and Sara Deakin. The program begins September 21 and ends November 11. The training takes place over 8 weekends: Fridays 7:30-10 p.m., Saturdays 1-6 p.m., and Sundays 1-6 p.m. The program includes yoga anatomy and physiology, yoga sutras and philosophy, how to teach private sessions, and more.
