Back in July, Chad Deal described Penis Hickey's debut album as “an anarchic steel-toe to your earballs. It’s the asymmetrical ‘X’ carved into your heart. It’s weird as all hell and sort of offensive, and with the right set of cochlea you can picture a fucked up Jim Henson cast unleashing the entire 38-minute assault.”
The duo, UCSD Grad students Leah Bowden (drums, vocals) and Clint McCallum (bass, vocals), will kick out the free-jazzcore jams today at a gratis show inside a Mission Hills record store. There will also be free pizza to complement the gender-bending performance art set.
