The Silver Strand Half Marathon and 5K is on Sunday the 11th of November and registration is still open. In fact, there will be registration going on Saturday the 10th at Road Runner Sports in Kearney Mesa.
The course for the half marathon has a couple good things going for it, especially if someone wants to make this their first half.
What's the first good thing about the course? It is flat, flat, flat. There are exactly zero hills on Coronado Island so if you're a beginner or if you want to hit a personal best, this is a good opportunity.
The next good thing is the weather. We should have cool temperatures and overcast skies which will be perfect for running.
One more bonus is that the course is scenic with views of downtown, the bay, and the Hotel del Coronado.
