San Diego Velodrome's Fall Swap Meet is today
The San Diego Velodrome Association’s Fall 2012 Swap Meet is today, Sunday, November 4.
Billed as the largest bicycle swap meet in Southern California, it promises over 200 vendors and a “bouncy castle”, presumably only for the kiddies.
Expect to see all types of bicycles, parts, gear, clothing and other bicycle-related items for sale.
Not just a place to buy and sell lovely bicycle things, the semi-annual SDVA Swap Meets (the other which is held in the Spring) also serve as the non-profit’s main fundraisers for the year.
All proceeds from these events, including the $5 entry fee for buyers (kids 7 and under have been free in the past), are used to keep the San Diego Velodrome in tip-top shape and its free youth programs, well, free.
Gates will open up to buyers at 9am with the swap wrapping up around 1pm, according to their Facebook event page.
The Velodrome (Morley Field/East Balboa Park) may be a bit tricky to get to for first-timers, but directions and more information about the event can be found here along with a detailed map here.
