The Three R’s are Rips, Rocks, and Reefs and the San Diego Council of Divers wants to tell you all about them.
Starting on June 2nd, The Council will be giving the first of eight FREE workshops. Each workshop is hosted by a different dive club.
The topics of the workshops range from how to identify underwater rocks or reefs by observing water movement to rip and long shore currents to utilizing the tides.
The sessions are interactive. There is a briefing on the basics of rocks, swells, and tides followed by a guided tour of a popular snorkel/dive site. The tours are monitored by experienced divers.
Participants need to bring a mask, snorkel, and fins. A wetsuit is recommended. Participants under the age of 17 will need to have a waiver signed by a parent or guardian.
The first workshop is on June 2nd at 8:00 am. The location is the steps leading down to La Jolla Cove at Scripps Park, 1150 Coast Blvd. The host for this session is San Diego Dive Club.
Donations are accepted.
