“The gallery is like a timeline for San Diego’s hip-hop culture,” says DJ KidRiz, who will help host tonight’s closing ceremony of the Contents Under Pressure art show.
The show has been up at the Jacobs Center for Community and Cultural Arts (404 Euclid Ave) since December 2011. Organized by Writerz Blok, a local organization that works to raise awareness and increase respect for graffiti “as a legitimate and museum-worthy art form,” the exhibit includes the work of San Diego’s current and historic graffiti artists, in photos, on clothing and on canvas.

“The vibe alone is amazing,” KidRiz says. “It's more intimate than a concert. You’ll definitely feel the unity of the community.”
Tonight’s closing celebration is a free, all-ages event and will include appetizers, a silent auction, and raffle prizes.
