If 10K, 6.2 miles, isn’t far enough for you to run on the 4th, there is the 15K on Coronado. 15K is about 9.3 miles. It is one of those gap distances.
The typical progression for a recreational yet serious runner is 5K, 10K, half marathon, full marathon, 50K. That would be 3.1 miles, 6.2 miles, 13.1 miles, 26.2 miles, and 31.07 miles.
There’s something of a doubling progression going on there until the 50K. Although adding five miles to a marathon is a significant increase.
It isn’t often that a 15K comes along. The Coronado 15K has been going for 38 years now and according to the website it “holds 20 nationally ranked 15K times”.
The course if flat, flat, and flatter and the weather should be perfect for running at the 7:00 am start time.
