North County’s Summer Concerts in the Park

Oceanside sponsors the family orientated Sunday Afternoon Concert Series at Heritage Park on Peyri Road from now until August 12th. Music begins at 4PM and last until 6PM at the park that’s tucked behind historic Mission San Luis Rey. Band lineup includes Gospel Groove on July 22; Exotiki and Yovee on July 29; Good Time Jazz Band on August 5; and Sal and Isela con los Salernos on the final Sunday, August 12.

Fallbrook's 27th annual Concert on the Green featuring light classical and popular music performed by the San Diego Symphony will occur August 9th at the Grand Tradition Estate on the lawn that overlooks the lake. Tickets for the evening event presented by the Fallbrook Music Society are $30 for adults and $5 for children under 12 years old. Boxed picnic dinners are available for $11 and tables may be reserved for an additional cost ranging from $50-$100 depending on the size and number of chairs. Gates at the 1602 South Mission Road Estate open 5:30PM for the concert that begins 7:30PM.

Vista offers something a bit different—Broadway musicals in Moonlight Amphitheater. These Magic of the Moonlight events include family nights, (Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday) when lawn tickets for the half-pint set (15yr and under) are only $10 when purchased along with an adult ticket. Adult tickets range from $37-$47 depending on seating area. Currently playing, Legally Blonde, through July 14; Fiddler on the Roof, July 25-August 11; Anything Goes, August 22-September; Sweeney Todd: the Demon Barber of Fleet Street, September 19-October 6; and Disney's The Little Mermaid, October 11-13. Most shows begin at 8PM though seating begins at 7:30PM—check program. Youth tickets go on sale at the box office 90-minutes before the performance.

San Marcos’s Summer Concerts in the Gardens begin at 7:30PM at Wood House Gardens on Rock Springs Road. Skelpin will be playing on Savor on July 28; Sue Palmer on August 25; and on Friday, September 7 beginning at 6:30PM the Clay Colton Band presents the series finale. Tickets are $6 presale, $8 at the door; $3 children under 12.

TGIF Jazz in the Park is sponsored by the City of Carlsbad. The concerts now in their 27th season rotate between three venues begin at 6PM. At Stagecoach Park on July 13, Café R&B will take the stage. Poinsettia Park will host the following bands: Steve Lucky & The Rhumba Bums on July 20th, B-Side Players on July 27th, and Madame Le Roux & Krewe with the Euphoria Brass Band on August 3rd. Bands to play at Calavera Hills Park will include Sierra Leone's Refugee All-Stars on August 10th, Ruby & The Red Hots on August 17th, and the Johnny Polanco Orchestra on the 14th.
