Bike the Boulevard - Saturday

Join fellow cyclists on Saturday the 25th for a leisurely ride down historic El Cajon Boulevard complete with barhopping, dining, and special events at local businesses.

“Bicycling has a way of bringing more vibrancy to a city,” Beryl Forman aka Miss Boulevard, marketing manager for the El Cajon Boulevard Business Improvement Association, told the Reader in February. “When you see a bunch of bikes in front of a business, it’s attractive, and it draws people in.”

Forman has organized several Bike the Boulevard rides since the beginning of last year, spotlighting the Boulevard’s thriving arts, music, and businesses.

Get to know San Diego’s slice of old U.S. Route 80, which once connected the west coast to Savannah, Georgia, and was the site of the 1960 El Cajon Boulevard Riot.
