Ocean Beach is one of the few San Diego neighborhoods where you can meet people who happily go by the names C Funk and Fungi.

Name: C Funk
Age: 25
Occupation: Musician and creator of www.thepsycle.com
Favorite wardrobe piece: His hat. On the inside brim he painted the letters to his own alphabet.

I find it highly entertaining that I spotted C Funk in the Target parking lot on Midway Drive of all places. He struck me as the kind of guy that might make his own clothes out of hemp or grow an elaborate organic garden on the patio of his apartment--not a Target shopper. At the very least I expected him to tell me that he was leaving his shift as the Green Peace guy that stands in front of the store with a clipboard. I guess even creators of their own alphabet enjoy Target shopping as much as the next dude. Who knew?

Name: Fungi, admittedly not his real name, however, that is what everyone calls him.
Age: 26
Occupation: Musician
Favorite wardrobe piece: His prayer beads (worn like a sash in the photo)

The last three times I have been in Ocean Beach I have spotted Fungi. Each time he has been dressed equally awesome.

Vanessa's arms look crazy in the first photo because she was lifting them up to prove how much she embraces her hippiness by sporting arm pit hair. I spared everyone that visual. You're welcome.
Like Free Funk, Vanessa has a feather on her hat. I spotted multiple OB peeps sporting the feather in the hat look. If you look closely you'll also notice Vanessa's ombre. I wish I could pull off an ombre. It would save me some serious cash!
