You can smell Old Hallow's Eve on the breeze, which means things will only be getting awesomer and awesomer yet for a couple more weeks.

Celebrate Live Wire’s 19th year of stern boozing to local music on cosmopolitan El Cajon Boulevard this Saturday. Meet at noon for a bicycle bar tour followed by a – you’re not going to believe this – PIZZA PARTY at the Wire. Don’t forget a pocketful of Washingtons to juke out your favorite Tanner, Inch, and Drive Like Jehu jams.

The Casbah’s Rocktoberfest kicks off at 3 p.m. behind the Birch North Park Theatre with sets from Everest, The Soft Pack, The Creepy Creeps, Dead Feather Moon, The Styletones, Low Volts, and The Heavy Guilt. $15 advance.

Later, head to the Ruby Room’s three year anniversary party, where – you really aren’t going to believe this – oddball rapper Kool Keith aka Dr. Octagon aka Dr. Dooom spits non sequiturs and you drink free beer, while supplies last. Nikki and the Mongoloids and local DJ legend RAW round out the bill. $20.

Dark cinematic local 9-piece Kata plays Bar Eleven with geigerpunk drone/doom metal machine fabricator/musician Author & Punisher and Immovable Objects. Do this.

170SD, the only known experimental 170 bpm monthly in the U.S., gives its last multi-genre hurrah Saturday night at the Kava Lounge after about a half year of activity.
