A Convention on Capitalism, Spirituality, and Other Endeavors

Jon Block of Jon Block Creations calls Here & Now “A Convention on Capitalism, Spirituality, and Other Playful Endeavors.”

Having produced music and art showcases with monthlies "Sight and Sound" and "Voices," Block’s June 26 event at the Lafayette Hotel is a follow-up to January’s Here & Now: A Convention for New Year’s Resolutions. He calls the convention the "Coachella of personal growth."

“There’s something magical about the optimism and sincerity of New Year’s Resolutions,” Block writes in a press release. “This event is a powerful reminder that it’s not about how many times you fall, it’s about how many times you get back up. It’s especially relevant today with people taking charge and creating a life that best works for them, and not trying to fit into someone else’s model.”

The four-stage convention will feature 12 seminars focusing on Career & Finances, Health & Beauty, Fitness, and Lifestyle & Relationships with live music throughout from Astra Kelly, Geezer, Josh Damigo, and Todo Mundo.

Seminars include a one-hour business intensive from Greg Reid of Think and Grow Rich, a 45-minute Q&A with Street Scene creator Rob Hagey, and a keynote speech from David Ji, CEO of the Chopra Center. View full schedule.

The all-ages event runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Tickets are $15 advance; $18 at the door.
