I'm bummed to be out of town this year during the San Diego Gay Pride Festival. Because it's today, their web site is completely overloaded, but I have some of the general details for you right here. Just because I'm missing the colorful, rambunctious parade, doesn't mean you have to! The parade begins at 11 a.m., at Normal Street on University Avenue, and wraps all the way down and around 6th Street to land at Balboa Park, where the festival will take place. After the parade, the party goes for two days, ending at 8 p.m. on Sunday. Here's a link with some more details.
If you don't want to fork over $20 to get into the official festival but still want to revel in the fabulousness that is San Diego's LGBT community, just head to Hillcrest -- house parties, bars, restaurants, all will be raising the rainbow flag in honor of pride!
