Greenroom "Crackups and Meltdowns" - VAMP "Alternative Endings"

Attention, writers and spoken-word performers!

Tomorrow’s free Greenroom writers’ workshop at the Imperial House focuses on the theme “Crackups and Meltdowns.” Let off some steam about your favorite freakout, mental breakdown, ecstatic revelation, or bout with lunacy while sipping adult beverages in the back room of the Imperial House’s swanky lounge. Everyone is welcome.

Free 7:30 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, August 24

Imperial House - 505 Kalmia Street – Bankers Hill

Greenroom founders and multimedia performance group So Say We All are hosting their monthly VAMP storytellers’ night this Thursday at the Whistle Stop.

The theme is “Alternative Endings: Whether it’s an obsession of how it could have gone different, or a story about how the past has actually been revisited and the course of life corrected, we’re exploring that idea of backing everything up and doing it right.”

Justin Hundall of So Say We All writes:

"VAMP debuted at the Whistle Stop in August of 2010 to showcase the best of San Diego's writers, presenting original work every month on a different theme. The show is designed to allow poets, writers, monologists, and lit-nerds a forum to perform like rock stars. VAMP provides artists with multimedia, music, and visual tools to enhance their writing, transforming a solitary art form into a multisensory live stage show in front of a ferociously loyal audience."

Thursday’s VAMP includes performances from Elisa April Ventura, Sean Masterson, Dallas McLaughlin, Ted Gideonse, Keith McCleary, Nathan Young, Francois Bereaud, Ryan Bradford, and DJ Dirty Rock

Free 8:30 p.m. Thursday, August 25 The Whistle Stop - 2236 Fern Street – South Park
