I love living in Old, but then I think you figured that out or were told. Life is good. We have a neighborhood here of older folks, and yes we even have younger folk living here. Some of those young folk are Old Town decendants. It is great hanging out, chatting with friends at the coffee shop and we even have friends from Mission Hills and Claremont who stop bye and join us. We belong to the Planning Committee, volunteer at the special events, help each other with the grocery shopping, even sent the Postman get well cards, and prayed for his healing. Of course we discuss politics, and social issues. We have a free book exchange at the coffee shop, and when we get free tickets for entrees or events they are passed out to neighbors. For some folks on fixed incomes that is quite luxury to afford a dinner out. We gather up neighbors for the free movies during the summer, and attend events in the State Park. There is plenty to do. Just taking a walk people watching, window shopping and enjoying the beauty of the vegetation can energize a soul. Yep, the O.G. in O.T. is well cared for here. Perhaps you can come down and visit, and just remember to take your time, talk to strangers, smile, eat, and laugh. With a bit of luck we may even run into each other. Maybe at the coffee shop.
