A Northern California man who had been on the run for almost 13 years from authorities was apprehended in Ensenada, Baja California, on Sunday, May 5th. Jerred Raymond Hernandez is alleged to have committed a homicide in August of 2000, in Ukiah, California. The 32 year old suspect was arrested and quickly turned over to United States authorities in San Diego on Monday, May 6th.
According to PressDemocrat.com, Hernandez is accused of robbing and killing Michael Edward Williamson. The parents of the victim state that Williamson was trying to help Hernandez who was a troubled 19 year old at the time of the homicide. The Ukiah Daily Journal reported that Williamson’s body was discovered in a residence, that his family owned, after it was lit on fire.
According to a federal complaint in September of 2000, authorities were notified by the suspect’s father that Hernandez had traveled to visit an uncle in Ensenada.
Hernandez was featured on America’s Most Wanted television show in 2012. It is unclear how authorities apprehended the suspect on May 5th.
