Tyree Davon Paschall, 29, admitted killing a transgender prostitute more than a year ago, in Oceanside.
In a plea deal yesterday in San Diego’s North County Superior Courthouse, the repeat felon admitted second-degree murder when he beat Crain Conaway to death on January 13, 2012.
Oceanside police found 47-year-old Crain Conaway deceased in the bedroom of a rented home on Marquette Street about a week after the killing, when concerned persons reported Conaway missing. Police entered the rental home with assistance from the landlord after midnight on January 21, 2012.
Suspect Tyree Paschall has been held in lieu of $2 million bail since he was taken into custody in January of 2012.
In the plea deal yesterday, March 19, 2013, a separate case which alleged felony forgeries and possession of stolen property was dismissed entirely.
A prosecutor has alleged that Tyree Paschall had a “strike prior” and “prison priors” committed in San Diego County, dating from 2005.
Prosecutor Aimee McLeod said that since the defendant admitted to second-degree murder, he will not be entitled to “good time credits” for the first twenty years of his new prison sentence.
According to Judge Aaron Katz, 29-year-old defendant Tyree Paschall can expect to be sentenced to 20-years-to-life at his next court appearance, now set for May 2, 2013.
