According to MarketWatch, a Texas company, TicketCity, has done a study of how much bang baseball fans get for their buck. The Padres rank 28th among 30 Major League Baseball teams. First, TicketCity considers the price of tickets bought from resellers such as StubHub or TicketCity. Then the study compares that price with team performance -- adjusted for quality of opponents. The Padres resale ticket price is $38 -- topped only by the San Francisco Giants ($44), and tied by the Boston Red Sox ($38). The Padres are playing .500 ball -- 38 wins, 38 losses, for 4th place in the National League West, 3.5 games out of first. The team offering the worst bang for the buck is the Houston Astros. The best is the Pittsburgh Pirates, whose resale ticket price is only $15 and the team is 46-30.
