The City of Del Mar is warning residents to prepare for traffic delays this weekend related to the LXMATS San Diego Lacrosse Tournament, which will take place at the San Diego Polo Fields off El Camino Real and is expected to draw up to 2,000 fans and participants.
“In this tournament elite level youth and high school teams will compete against each other and pro players will host clinics and demonstrations,” says a release from the city.
The three-day tournament runs from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. June 21-23.
Another event, the San Diego County Fair, is also occurring in the area over the same weekend. City officials say that the combination of the two may cause congestion on Interstate 5 in the Del Mar area, and are advising drivers to plan accordingly.
