San Elijo Hills Park, adjacent to the upscale San Elijo Hills master-planned development in San Marcos, is set to re-open to the public on Tuesday (June 4), after being closed for renovations since early May.
Completed less than a decade ago in 2004, the facility was nonetheless deemed needing of upgrades, and will re-open its new playground with two new jungle gyms “designed to mimic the appearance of actual jungles,” plus a new sandbox with a sitting wall for parents and a water-shooting splash pad, according to the city. The play structures and sandbox will all have shade coverings “as a safety measure to help lower the rate of sunburns.”
