The Oceanside Public Library has announced a two-part program beginning next week to celebrate one of North County’s most notable industries with its “Books and Brew” presentations.
“North County has been a leader in the craft beer industry since before Prohibition, and this continues in the present day,” says a city release promoting the events, which are sponsored by Friends of the Oceanside Public Library.
The first event takes place from 4:00-6:00 p.m. on Friday, August 2, and features a screening of Crafting America, a documentary that illustrates “how craft beer is providing an alternative economy across the United States.”
The following Friday at 4:30 p.m. (August 9), a speaker from the Bottled & Kegged exhibit hosted by the San Diego History Center will present.
Both events are to be held at the Civic Center Library at 330 North Coast Highway in Oceanside. Alas, no alcohol will be served at either the screening or the lecture.
