Burglar targets Poway office parks

San Diego Sheriff’s deputies are looking for help in identifying a suspect believed to be involved in a string of commercial burglaries in Poway over the last week.

The man, pictured above, has targeted seven businesses in southern Poway office parks for overnight break-ins occurring between July 19 and July 23. It’s unknown if other suspects are involved.

In most of the incidents, the suspect smashed a glass front window of a business to gain entry. Laptops of employees left out were the typical target, though at Phone.com on the 14000 block of Danielson Street and Orca Systems on the 13000 block of Danielson nothing was stolen.

A total of about $8000 worth of computers has been stolen so far, and another $3500 in damage has been caused, largely a result of broken windows.

Sheriff’s deputies are reminding businesses to install and arm security systems, close window blinds, and not leave valuable items in plain sight when closed. Tips regarding the suspect’s identity can be made at (858) 513-2800 or anonymously at (888) 580-8477. As usual, a reward of up to $1000 is offered for information leading to arrest.
