The Municipal Youth Little League Baseball team of Tijuana will represent Mexico in the Little League World Series, after defeating Veracruz in the national title game. The team became the first ever from Tijuana to earn a spot in the tournament.
Players ages 11 and 12 compete in a series of qualifying tournaments to earn one of the 16 spots in the series. Eight U.S. teams and eight international teams compete in the annual tournament.
The Little League World Series will begin on August 15.
