San Diego County home values rose 0.9% in August from July, according to data released this morning by Standard & Poor's/Case-Shiller. That's the same as the composite 0.9% gain of the 20 largest metro areas. Year-over-year, local home values rose 1.9%, slightly below the 2% of the top 20 metro areas. The annual increase for Phoenix was 18.8%; home values there had plunged more severely than in other metro areas. San Diego home values are now down 37% from their high of November 2005.
