A young multi-felon admitted three new felonies in a plea deal this morning in the Vista courthouse.
Chase Evans Jenkins, 25, today admitted car theft and first degree burglary of an inhabited home and possession of hypodermic needle while in jail. Jenkins expects to be sentenced to 2 years and 8 months in prison next month, according to the judge’s reading of the plea deal.
The new prison term will run concurrently with Jenkins’ other felony matters, including probation violations on his prior cases. The youthful defendant, previously described in court as a “documented skinhead,” has a criminal record that began when he was 18 years old, for drugs and stolen goods, according to court documents.
A distinctive tattoo on Jenkins, captured on surveillance video, was said to be helpful to Escondido Police who were looking to identify the driver of a stolen vehicle.
Judge K. Michael Kirkman accepted the plea deal and ordered the defendant back in court November 29 to hear formal sentencing, in San Diego’s North County Superior Courthouse.
