The Super PAC supporting Tea Party hero, Representative Allen West of Florida, has received a hefty donation from one wealthy resident of San Diego.
Robert Shillman, founder and chairman of Cognex Corporation gave the Treasure Coast Jobs Coalition, the pro-West anti-Patrick Murphy Super PAC, $25,000 on September 30.
Since 2008, the year West was elected to represent Florida's 22nd congressional district, West has been the chief bugle-blower for Tea Party causes in congress.
In the past West has denounced followers of Islam, rebuked congressional Democrats by telling them to "get the hell out" of the country. Just last August, West told Fox News anchor Neil Cavuto that President Obama has served the country a "crap sandwich."
West is currently in a close fight for a second term against Democrat Patrick Murphy. Treasure Coast Jobs Coalition is doing everything in their power to make sure West wins in November. The Super PAC has raised $1,860,521 so far this election cycle.
Shillman also has donated directly to West's campaign. In November 2011, Shillman shelled out $2,500 for West. That's not all. Shillman is also a major donor to the San Diego County Republican Party. In all Shillman has donated $87,550 to various Super PACs, the Republican Party, and conservative candidates such as Eric Cantor, Darrell Issa, and Brian Bilbray.
