San Diego Sheriff's Department say a man robbed the Imperial Beach Chase Bank branch, 1100 Palm Avenue on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 shortly after 11:00 am. A Sheriff spokesperson said the robber presented a demand note for cash to a teller and threatened to have a weapon. After receiving an unknown amount of money, the suspect reportedly fled on foot. Witnesses described the man as a Hispanic male about 20 years old who is 6 feet tall, weighs about 175 pounds and has close-cropped hair. He was wearing a white T-shirt, a gray hooded jacket, white tennis shoes, a black baseball cap and plastic-framed sunglasses with dark-brown lenses. The FBI was called to the scene. The Sheriff's Department ASTRA helicopter was used to assist in the search of the neighborhood.
