A young man with an unusual name made a felony plea deal in San Diego’s North County Superior Courthouse today.
James Cameron Hollywood, 28, admitted that he possessed marijuana for sale and that he had a “usable amount” of heroin, two felonies, in court this morning. He also admitted misdemeanor shoplifting from the Home Depot on Vista Way in Oceanside.
In exchange for the plea, Mr. Hollywood expects several felonies and misdemeanors from three different cases to be dismissed. The charges which are to be dismissed include possession of psilocybin mushrooms for sale, possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia, under the influence of meth and heroin, and misdemeanor burglary.
The offenses allegedly occurred on April 8 and April 10 and June 20 of this year. When James Cameron Hollywood was first arrested in San Diego County on April 8, he immediately paid a $2,800 premium for a bond company to post his $35,000 bond and he was released. He has since remained at liberty.
According to paperwork, Mr. Hollywood expects a sentence of 365 days and “any custody time imposed may be served in residential rehab.”
James Cameron Hollywood most recently listed his home address as Southwood Drive in Oceanside. However, a police officer listed Mr. Hollywood’s home address in the 700 block of Camino de las Mares in San Clemente, on a citation that was issued two months ago, in June.
A prosecutor alleged two prior convictions for James Cameron Hollywood, both were drug cases from Orange County, but these priors were not acknowledged in the current plea deal.
James Cameron Hollywood and his privately retained defense attorney Thomas Slattery are expected back in court for sentencing September 18.
