Robert Peltier, one of two principal owners of Ranch Catering, pleaded guilty today (Aug. 8) to tax evasion. According to the U.S. Attorney's office, in 2003 Peltier deposited proceeds from the business in accounts at two separate banks. But Peltier provided his tax preparer with information on only one of the accounts, thereby failing to declare $419,000 in catering income and evading taxes by $112,824. He will pay 221,792 in back taxes, penalties, and interest. His son Jason Peltier, co-owner of the business, has entered into a separate settlement requiring him to pay $505,435 in back taxes, penalties, and interest.
