Just when I thought ...

Yeah...just when I thought this phase of my life ( coffee & donut ) was over I am sitting-here-having a nice hot cup of coffee and a glazed twist . Yum!

Note -here- is one of two donut shops I frequent in North Park ...wasn't sure if I could actually name them...didn't want to think ( god forbid) that I was promoting/advertising for them . So for now they remain nameless kinda like donut shops appear to most...unassuming little jewels tucked into an even more unassuming liitle strip mall .

It was only two days ago that my day started and commenced as a whirlwind of activity so much so that I blew through my mid-morning coffee and donut ritual, skipped lunch and it wasnt until while on the bus home I caught a glimpse of what appeared to be a donut shop in South Park . This got the brain ah-going ...the taste buds ah-salivating and the body ah-shaking ! Hey ! Just like the old V-8 commercial...I could of but didnt have my coffee and donut today. So as I was travelling on the bus I knew that one of my donut haunts was on my bus route along 30th . I labored over whether to get off the bus at the donut shop versus staying on to stop closer to my home . Back and forth I went as I approached the donut shop and at the last moment decided nah just not interested and looked out of the window as the bus passed and it was open ( wondering how late do they stay open ) and at that moment I thought this is the end of my coffee and donut phase. Oh well ...I will miss ya but not too much - right ?

It also got me thinking about some of my other phases that have passed ...like my chinese food phase . I ate chinese food ( usually Wor Wonton soup ) approximately 200 times in ONE year . That was quite a phase . Loved it ! I saved all of my fortunes and have them in a box -dated . I would text friends my fortune daily . Everyone came to expect my fortune cookie text around 1:30 or so. Then one day my fortune cookie had NO fortune in it . Yikes I thought this must be some kind of sign . So I stopped eating chinese food. Everyone in my office knew of my chinese food phase and also heard about my no fortune in the cookie episode . So I basically just strolled around at lunch looking for a place to eat each day . Upon returning to my office one day ...on my desk was a chocolate covered fortune cookie which I immediately opened and YES there was a fortune in the cookie. And the next day I commenced my eating of chinese food . That phased ended / coincided with me leaving my job that was downtown ...that was a few years ago and I have eaten chinese food only a few times since.

Figuring the same fate for my current coffee and donut phase only a few days later I am back ...just when I thought .
