Tiger's Wood

So, yet another woman has stepped forward to claim the throne of who has slept with Tiger Woods. What the hell? How did he manage to keep this under wraps for so long, only to now have the lid blown off like a cannon shot?

I can only think he must have been paying massive amounts of money to these broads to keep their mouths shut, and now that the cat's out of the bag, they are making massive amounts of money to open them up. This kind of behavior makes me ill.

Is this how you become a success in our country now? You sleep with a celebrity and then tell-all when he finally gets caught? Not that I am excusing his behavior, but he is the one with the money, and he can pretty much do whatever the hell he wants.

This shameless media circus is really bothering me. I don't think Tiger Woods tried to project a squeaky-clean image as much as the media made it up and he went along with it. This is typical. Having to live up to that image means the fall will be that much greater when it eventually happens. And it always does.

And these skanks who are making money off of this? They are talking to lawyers, magazines, whoever will give them the most money and attention. They were not victims!! They chose to sleep with a married man who is the father of two children. Do you think they would have given him the time of day if he was just some average Joe with a wife, a couple of kids and a mortgage? Hell no. I can only think that the solution to celebrity cheating is to cheat with someone who stands to lose as much, if not more, as you. Seems to rarely be the case. Tila Tequila, anyone?

There are two camps of thought surrounding this. I happen to think that it really is a private matter between him and his wife. Others think his celebrity status requires him to make public his private life. Says who? His corporate sponsors? That's what happens when you become an icon. You are indebted to Gatorade or Nike or Wheaties. You sold your soul to the corporations that sponsor the tournaments that pay you the big bucks to be a perfect athlete, family man, a spokesperson for their products.

But what happens when you become human? I know what he did to his family was a horrible, selfish act of self-indulgence but maybe all the pressure to be something that deep down he was not made Tiger Woods want to act out. I know that I would not want to be put up on some pedestal and watched for the eventual cracks in my veneer. That's got to be some serious pressure.

I do feel bad for his wife. She loves him. You don't chase after someone with a golf club if you don't love them, you just call the lawyers. I am sure she is furious about this, and hurt beyond belief, but I can't help but feel sorry for the guy. He's been molded and crafted his entire life. His biggest mistake was buying into the perfect image and marrying a perfect wife and buying a perfect house and having two perfect children at such a young age. He had achieved so much and probably looked around and said "now what? I'm in my early thirties, I am famous, I have a sh*tload of money, and I can't do ANYTHING". Risky behavior is the result of boredom. I can imagine that Tiger Woods was probably very bored with the cookie-cutter life that had been orchestrated for him.

I'm gonna have to give Tiger Woods a pass on this.
