Writing my own rules

I guess I broke every rule there is to blogging, or so I've learned in J-school.

It's been a few months since I've posted anything here and it's because I've been worried about sounding smart or writing about things that matter to people or being upbeat or wondering what my potential colleagues will think of me.

So what was the result? I didn't write anything at all. I just let this little corner of the Webverse marinate while I grind it out in school (by the way, I'm incredibly happy to be almost finished!).

But I've realized something. The only thing that matters is if I write something I would like to read. And because I think I'm a somewhat reasonable person who enjoys things many people are interested in, what I like to read must be what at least a few others like as well.

Here's where I'm going with this and my new outlook for the year: It's time for me to take the rules I've learned and apply them where appropriate, forget them where necessary. It's time for me to invent my own rules, starting with this blog.

To be honest, I still don't know the direction "A Little Lady" is going to go, but I'm not gonna waste away thinking about it. I'm just gonna write whatever I feel passionate about at the moment.

Thanks for reading. Cheers!
