Love Cupcake "stands up for kids" - Eat a cupcake; help homeless youth

Four months after opening her cafe...after hurdling over the challenges of being laid off...after being reunited with an uncle she hadn't spoken to in years, the owner of Love Cupcake Cafe in Otay Ranch is already giving back to the community.

According to the local news station, KUSI, the owners of the shop will be collaborating with a non-profit organization each month. This month, they are teaming up with Stand Up for Kids.

The south bay based cafe will be donating $1 per each cupcake that will go toward Stand Up for Kids, a volunteer based organization that works to assist homeless youth.

> "I want to raise $1,000. It costs them $5,000 each month to do what they do," says Love Cupcake Cafe owner, Hortenssia Zatarain about the non-profit, Stand Up for Kids.

Additionally, her staff is donating all of their tip money to help the cause, according to the interview Zatarain had with the aforementioned local news source.

They are open from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. today. For further information, contact the shop at (619) 271-5683. It is located in the VONS shopping center at 2110 Birch Road Suite #105, Chula Vista, California 91915 in Otay Ranch, across from the Otay Ranch Town Center.

Their cupcakes are delicious. Most of them are the perfect blend of sweet and savory. There are so many to choose from. A friend of mine used them for her wedding shower and the result was amazing. It was a hit. Love Cupcake has also had their cakes used for city events, as well as actual weddings.

I am lucky enough to have had the privilege of speaking with the owners. They are wonderful people and extremely professional. It is in an inspiration to have had several conversations on a quasi-personal level. They have every reason to be proud of themselves.

For press related information regarding Love Cupcake Cafe, contact Claudia Huizar of Luxuria P.R. at [email protected] or by phone at (858)-754-8856.

Retraction - Correction: The cafe is donating $1 from the full priced sale of each cupcake to go toward Stand Up for Kids.
